Symptom:
When pairing a heart rate transmitter or wireless app error code 12008 appears on the PM5.
Resolution:
- Make sure heart rate transmitter is only pairing to one device using Bluetooth
- Make sure only one app on a mobile device is pairing to the PM5
- We recommend only connecting a heart rate strap to the PM5 using ANT+ when available. On the PM5, after selecting Connect > Connect Heart Rate, wait until ANT+ xxxxx is displayed and pair it with that heart rate device.
- Ensure that the firmware is up to date.
This issue commonly occurs with heart rate monitoring, but it may also be caused by apps on a mobile device. If you are not using heart rate monitoring, the problem could be due to attempting to run multiple apps simultaneously.
Most heart rate straps can only be connected to one Bluetooth device at a time. If a heart rate monitor is already connected to a different device, like your phone, and you try to pair it with the PM5 via Bluetooth, you will encounter this error message.
